The Power of the Lord on High
The scene illustrates a passage from the Akathistos Hymn. The painter, who was Cretan by descent, worked in Cyclades during the 17th century. The icon, belonging to G. Makkas collection, donated to the Byzantine & Christian Museum in 1954.
